The Gold Coast is in the Australian state of Queensland

approximately 66 kilometres (41 mi) south-southeast of the state capital Brisbane and immediately north of the border with New South Wales. With a estimated population of 679,127,[1] at June 2018 (including 76,779 in the adjacent Tweed Valley of New South Wales), the Gold Coast is the sixth-largest city in Australia, making it the largest non-capital placeand Queensland’s town

Gold Coast is a major tourist destination

with its sunny subtropical climate and has become widely known for its surfing , high-rise dominated skyline, theme parks, nightlife, and rainforest hinterland. TIts part of the nation’s entertainment industry with television productions and a major film industry. The town hosted the 2018 Commonwealth Games which ran from 4 to 15 April 2018.

Popular inland areas include Southport, , Marine Stadium, Currumbin Alley, Tallebudgera Estuary, Jacobs Well, Jabiru Island, Paradise Point, Harley Park Labrador, Santa Barbara, Boykambil and Evandale Lake.
If you want the best experience of a resort built with a beautiful hotel then you don’t have to study hard to find it.

The Gold Coast has Australia’s larges professional surf lifesaving service to protect people and to promote surf safety throughout the community. The Queensland Department of Primary Industries carries out the Queensland Shark Control Program (SCP) to protect swimmers from sharks.

Sharks are caught by using nets and baited drumlines off the major swimmingareas. Even with the SCP, sharks do range within sight of the patrolled towns. Lifeguards will clear swimmers from the water if it is considered that there is a safety risk.
Is still is to be decided whether it is official that you can get tips situated at the Mercure, which provides premier times and guaranteed fun with glitz

Facts indicate that the book shows that it is the best for fun in the sun on the Gold Coast, especially for online travellers

If your objective is to have some on the Gold Coast Australia, and a great time in the South East with many study opportunities, then see what this hotel or resort offers from a local point of view

Gold Coast has experienced periods of severe erosion. In 1967, a series of 11 cyclones removed most of the sand from Gold Coast beaches.

The Government of Queensland engaged engineers from Delft University in the Netherlands to advise what to do about the erosion.

The Delft Report was published in 1971 and outlined a series of works for Gold Coast Beaches including Gold Coast Seaway, works at Narrow Neck that resulted in the Northern Gold Coast Protection Strategyand works at the Tweed River that became the Tweed River Entrance Sand Bypassing Project

By 2005 most of the recommendations of the 1971 Delft Report had been implemented. Gold Coast commenced implementation of Protection Strategy but ran into considerable opposition from the community participating in a NO REEF protest campaign.

Gold Coast Council then committed to completing a review of management practices to update the Delft Report.

The Gold Coast Shoreline Management Plan will be delivered by organisations including the Environmental Protection Agency, Gold Coast and the Griffith Centre for Coastal Management.

Gold Coast is also investing into the quality and capacity of the Gold Coast Oceanway that provides sustainable transport along Gold Coast beaches.[citation needed]

Tourism

Q1, the tallest building in Australia and the tallest residential building upon completion in 2005 (currently the sixth tallest)

The Surfers Paradise Meter Maids were founded in 1965 and have since become an icon of the Gold Coast.

Around 10 million tourists visit the Gold Coast area every year: of 849,114 international visitors, 3,468,000 domestic overnight visitors and 5,366,000 daytrip visitors. Tourism is the region’s biggest industry, directly contributing more than $4.4 billion into the city economy every year and directly accounting for one in four jobs in the city

There are approximately 65,000 beds, 60 kilometres (37 mi) 600 kilometres (370 mi) of canal, 100,000 hectares of nature reserve, 500 restaurants, 40 golf courses and five major theme parks in the city. There have been various prospects and proposals raised for even more theme parks.[citation needed]

Gold Coast Airport provides connection across Australia and internationally with airlines including Flyscoot, Jetstar, Qantas, Air New Zealand, Virgin Australia and Airasia X. Brisbane Airport is less than one hour from the centre of Gold Coast, and direct trains operate.

Tourism is Gold Coast City’s main industry, generating a total of $2.5 billion in revenue per annum.[citation needed] The Gold Coast is the most popular tourist destination in Queensland.[53] It is Australia’s 5th most visited destination by international tourists.

The city has over 13,000 available guest rooms contributing over $335 million to the local economy each year. Accommodation options available range from hostels to five star resorts and hotels.

The most common style of accommodation is three and four star self-contained apartments.[citation needed] Tourist attractions include surf beaches, and theme parks including Dreamworld, Sea World, Wet’n’Wild Water World, Warner Bros. Movie World, WhiteWater World, Topgolf, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, David Fleay Wildlife Park, Australian Outback Spectacular, and Paradise Country.

Since the opening of what was then the highest residential tower in 2005 (it is now the fifth highest), the Q1 building has been a destination for tourists and locals alike. It is the second highest public vantage point in the southern hemisphere after the Eureka Tower in Melbourne.

The observation deck at level 77 is the highest of its kind in Queensland and offers views in all directions, from Brisbane to Byron Bay. It towers over the Surfers Paradise skyline, with the observation deck 230 metres (755 feet) high, and the spire extending nearly another hundred metres up. In total, the Q1 is 322.5 metres (1058 feet) high, making it the tallest building in Australia.

Another famous tourist attraction are the Surfers Paradise Meter Maids, instituted in 1965 to put a positive spin on new parking regulations.

To avoid tickets being issued for expired parking, the Meter Maids dispense coins into the meter and leave a calling card under the windscreen wiper of the vehicle. The Maids are still a part of the Surfers Paradise culture but the scheme is now run by private enterprise.

Chinatown, Gold Coast, is an integral part of the revitalisation of Southport as an international CBD

how soon can i take a pregnancy test calculator

Most pregnancies last around 40 weeks (or 38 weeks from conception), so typically the best way to estimate your due date is to count 40 weeks, or 280 days, from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP). Another way to do it is to subtract three months from the first day of your last period and add seven days. So if your last period started on April 11, you’d count back three months to January 11 and then add seven days, which means your due date would be January 18. This is how your doctor will estimate your due date — and it’s a pretty solid target. But remember: It’s just as normal to deliver a week or two before or after.

how many weeks does a normal pregnancy last

Conception date
Calculating your due date based on the first day of your last period works well for women who have a relatively regular menstrual cycle. But if your cycle is irregular, the LMP method may not work for you. Because a reliable estimated date of delivery (EDD) is important, you and your practitioner can use your conception date instead if you remember it. Just add 266 days to get your estimated due date.

IVF transfer date
There are more than 250,000 assisted reproductive technology cycles performed each year in the United States, resulting in about 77,000 or more babies born a year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). If you are part of the growing tribe of IVF moms, you can calculate your due date more precisely using your IVF transfer date.

Ultrasound scan
Even if you can’t pinpoint when you conceived, forget the day of your last menstrual period or aren’t sure when ovulation occurred, other clues can help you and your practitioner determine your due date at your first prenatal appointment, including:

An early ultrasound, which can more accurately date the pregnancy. Just be aware, however, that not all women get an early ultrasound. Some practitioners perform them routinely, but others only recommend one if your periods are irregular, you’re 35 or older, you have a history of miscarriages or pregnancy complications, or the due date can’t be determined based on your physical exam and LMP.

Pregnancy milestones such as the first time the baby’s heartbeat is heard (around week 9 or 10, though it can vary) and when you first feel fetal movement (on average between 18 and 22 weeks, but it can be earlier or later), can give clues as to whether your due date is accurate.

Your fundal height, which is the measurement from your pubic bone to the top of your uterus, is checked by your practitioner at each prenatal visit and helps confirm your due date.

The size of your uterus, which will be noted when your initial internal pregnancy exam is performed, can also be a factor in pinpointing the EDD.
Can I plan my due date?
Whether you’re trying to avoid being very pregnant in the middle of summer or are a teacher who wants to maximize time off with your little one, you can try to time when you conceive in order to “plan” your due date. But even if you’re one of the lucky ones who’s able to get pregnant when she really wants to, just remember that you probably won’t be able to map out exactly when you’ll give birth to the day (or even the week or month!).

Try our Ovulation Calculator to find out which days you’re most likely to conceive
Can my due date change?
Yes, your due date can change. While it’s definitely not a reason to worry, your doctor may change your due date for a number of reasons as your pregnancy progresses. It may be that your periods are irregular and your early ultrasound dating was off, or that your first ultrasound was in the second trimester. It could also be because your fundal height is abnormal, or your levels of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), a protein made by the baby, are outside the usual range. Talk to your practitioner if you have any questions or concerns.

It does not use ionizing radiation, has no known harmful effects, and is the preferred method for monitoring pregnant women and their unborn babies. A Doppler ultrasound study – a technique that evaluates blood flow in the umbilical cord, fetus or placenta – may be part of this exam.

This procedure requires no special preparation. Since only your lower abdominal area needs to be exposed for this exam, you may want to wear a loose-fitting, two-piece outfit. Leave jewelry at home.

You can book any of our ultrasound packages, or first go and check your due date using our pregnancy due date calculator which will suggest the best dates for your ultrasound scan.

A nuchal scan or nuchal translucency (NT) scan/procedure is a sonographic prenatal screening scan (ultrasound) to detect chromosomal abnormalities in a fetus, though altered extracellular matrix composition and limited lymphatic drainage can also be detected.

Since chromosomal abnormalities can result in impaired cardiovascular development, a nuchal translucency scan is used as a screening, rather than diagnostic, tool for conditions such as Down syndrome, Patau’s syndrome and Edwards Syndrome and non-genetic Body-stalk anomaly

There are two distinct measurements: the size of the nuchal translucency and the thickness of the nuchal fold. Nuchal translucency size is typically assessed at the end of the first trimester, between 11 weeks 3 days and 13 weeks 6 days of pregnancy.[3] Nuchal fold thickness is measured towards the end of the second trimester. As nuchal translucency size increases, the chances of a chromosomal abnormality and mortality increase; 65% of the largest translucencies (>6.5mm) are due to chromosomal abnormality, while fatality is 19% at this size. A nuchal scan may also help confirm both the accuracy of the pregnancy dates and the fetal viability

The purpose of a 9 week ultrasound
Depending on your unique pregnancy, your chosen healthcare professional may schedule an earlier ultrasound at nine weeks for a few different reasons.

If this is your first ultrasound, it will give you the opportunity to accurately determine your due date. Especially if you haven’t tracked when your LMP was.

Knowing how far along you are in your pregnancy is important. At some point between 11 and 13 weeks your healthcare professional will suggest conducting a Nuchal Translucency (NT) scan. This scan tests for Down syndrome and for accurate results, you need to know how far along you are.

If you have miscarried a previous pregnancy or you have experienced some level of vaginal bleeding over the last nine weeks, you may also be offered an ultrasound. This scan can confirm whether your pregnancy is progressing healthily.

What to expect during your 9 week ultrasound
This ultrasound may be conducted vaginally or externally on your abdomen. Know that if your healthcare professional has officially referred you for an early scan Medicare will cover it.

At nine weeks, you will be able to see your baby’s head, body and limbs. You will also be able to hear your little one’s heart beat for the first time with a Doppler monitor. Bring some tissues with you; this can be a very emotional moment.

It’s also important to understand that miscarrying during the first three months of pregnancy is quite common.

If your ultrasound shows that your baby is growing slowly, or has a lower than average heartbeat your chances of miscarrying are high. If you have been experiencing pain or vaginal bleeding, you might be somewhat prepared for this news. However, no matter how prepared you think you may be, hearing your miscarriage suspicions confirmed is likely to be a distressing experience.

Your baby at 9 weeks
At nine weeks, your baby will measure approximately 2.5 centimetres. The foetus will resemble a green olive and weigh less than 2 grams.

Your little one’s eyes will have grown larger and even have some colour, but their eyelids will still be fused shut. Your ultrasound may be able to show you the beginnings of what will be your little one’s fingers and toes too.
