In our experience the best 3D/4D/5D images are captured between 27 and 34 weeks. In the case of twins we suggest appointments between 24 and 28 weeks. What are 2D/3D/4D/5D Ultrasounds?

All ultrasounds use sound waves to create an image. 2D (Two dimensional) ultrasound is the commonly seen grey-scale image used at your Dating, Nuchal and Morphology diagnostic ultrasound scans. 3D (Three dimensional) ultrasound uses a computer program to generate a more realistic image while 4D (Four dimensional) ultrasound uses a computer program to generate a video of the 3D image. In turn, 5D (Five dimensional) ultrasound is the rendering of the 3D images and the 4D clips to have a more life like “in the womb” appearance.
